What Is Tastylia 20 Mg?
Tastylia 20 mg is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. Its active ingredient is Tadalafil, which is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor.
Tastylia is often available in an orally disintegrating strip (ODS) or tablet form, making it convenient to take without water. Tastylia 20 mg is primarily manufactured by Healing Pharma Ltd. in India.
Uses
Tadalafil helps men achieve and maintain an erection when sexually stimulated by increasing blood flow to the penis. It can also be used to relieve symptoms of an enlarged prostate, such as difficulty urinating, weak urine flow, and frequent or urgent urination.
In some cases, Tadalafil may be prescribed to treat PAH by relaxing blood vessels in the lungs, which reduces pressure and improves blood flow.
How it Works
Tadalafil works by inhibiting an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). When sexual stimulation occurs, nitric oxide is released, leading to an increase in cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP).
cGMP causes the smooth muscles in the penis to relax and blood vessels to dilate, allowing more blood to flow into the erectile tissue, resulting in an erection. PDE5 normally breaks down cGMP, but by inhibiting PDE5.
How to Take
- Take one tablet or strip orally about 30–45 minutes before sexual activity.
- Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours.
- Avoid alcohol, heavy meals, and grapefruit juice around the time of dosing (they can reduce its effectiveness).
Dosage
Some men who engage in sexual activity more frequently may use Tadalafil in smaller daily doses rather than the 20 mg on-demand dose. It’s not recommended to take the 20 mg tablets every day due to their long-lasting effects (up to 36 hours).
