About Tiotrop Rotacaps
Tiotrop Rotacaps is an anticholinergic drug that is related to Tiotropium. Among its uses are the treatment of Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This helps relieve symptoms like tightness in the chest, difficulty in breathing, and wheezing.
Uses
- Treatment of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
The Rotacap helps keep the airways in the lungs open. It relaxes the muscles of the airways and makes it easier for air to move in and out. Helps relieve symptoms like wheezing and cough. It makes your daily activities easier.
How it works
Tiotropium is designed to provide a bronchodilatory effect that lasts for up to 24 hours, which is why it is typically administered once daily for the long-term management of the condition.
In conditions like COPD and asthma attacks, the airways in the lungs can become constricted or narrowed. With the muscles unable to contract, they relax, and the airways widen. This process is called bronchodilation.
How To Use
- Take a deep breath through the mouthpiece and twist completely until you hear a click.
- Hold your breath for 10 seconds and repeat the process until there is some powder left in the Rotahaler.
- Consult your doctor or check the label for directions before using these Rotacaps.
Side Effects
- Dry mouth
- Cough
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Blurred vision
This is a rare but serious side effect where your wheezing or breathing gets worse immediately after using the inhaler. If this happens, stop using the medication and use a rescue inhaler.
